Bob McKinnon brings more than 40 years of business, governance, finance and technology experience to Sprooki. He is well recognised internationally as one of Australia’s leading technology executives of the last decade. Bob’s extensive experience includes current and previously held Non-Executive, Executive director and Board Committee roles for ASX listed and unlisted companies.
Having previously held CEO, COO, CFO and CIO roles in major companies in the retail and wholesale financial services, property and technology sectors, Bob remains actively immersed in the technology, innovation and digital economy space. He currently sits on the Board IT Committee for Cancer Council NSW, is a Principal at Eaton Square, an M&A and capital market services company for technology and growth sectors, is a Co-founder and Director of Mirin Group, Mirin Digital and Mirin Capital, Co-founder and Director of Cherrie Civil Engineering and a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair of Blue Chilli Technology.
Bob’s previous experience includes holding Group Executive, Technology and CIO roles with both Westpac Banking Group and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Outside the technology sector, Bob’s senior executive and board roles have included Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair of Alesco Corporation, Joint MD and CFO of Brookfield Multiplex Group, COO and CFO of MLC Group, and CFO of Lend Lease Corporation.
Bob has a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW and is both a Chartered Accountant and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Claire brings 15 years of Commercial, Product and General Management experience in Digital Marketing, Media and FMCG to her role as Managing Director & co-founder of Sprooki. Prior to founding Sprooki, Claire held a number of management roles within large, blue-chip digital companies and dynamic start-ups alike including General Manager, Multimedia Interactive Technologies for ASTRO (Malaysia), one of Asia’s largest broadcasters, overseeing all Internet, mobile and Interactive TV products & services.
Claire has also held Senior Marketing and Product Development roles for Australia’s premier publisher, Fairfax Digital Media, publisher of the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and the Australian Financial Review (Australia) and Brand Management roles within FMCG retail marketing giant, Procter & Gamble (Europe). Claire also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (University of Queensland) and a Masters of International Business from Bond University (Australia).
Claire has been living in Asia since 2004 and is currently based in Singapore with her husband and two children.
Michael has worked at the leading edge of the Digital Media, Mobile Internet and Social Web world, having held senior executive or trusted advisor roles with major media companies throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Fairfax Media, The Federal Publishing Company, Astro All-Asia Networks and Independent Digital Media.
His experience includes building successful digital publishing and marketplace businesses and major consumer websites including the iconic vogue.com.au and #1 food & recipe website taste.com.au. Michael held senior management and corporate strategy roles in Fairfax Media, Australasia’s leading media company, including General Manager of leading automotive website drive.com.au.
Michael has built a successful consulting and corporate advisory practice working with clients working on capital raisings, trade sale and merger & acquisition engagements for clients in the media, technology, entertainment and marketing services sectors.
He earned his MBA and a Masters of Management (Marketing) at Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney.
Jack Hanrahan joins the Sprooki board with over 30 years of retail industry experience and a deep understanding of retail trends, technologies and strategies as well as a network of local and international contacts. He has just finished an eight-year role as General Manager of Retailer Relations at Scentre Group Limited, an ASX listed company with a portfolio of 40 retail shopping centres across Australia and New Zealand and total assets under management of over $40b. He is also on the Board of World Skills Australia; an organisation devoted to the development of skills within young Australians.
Previously, Jack served in a variety of Senior Executive roles in both public and private retail companies, with roles including General Manager of Vodafone Australia where he managed over 1,000 people nationally and sales of $1.1b and CEO of Aquareuse (Aust) Limited, a public company focused on water recycling.
Jack has a Masters Degree from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a Member of the Institute of the Australian Institute of Company Director and senior lecturer of Marketing, Finance and Strategy units at a number of universities in Australia and Asia.
Geogy is currently responsible for the overall architecture of Sprooki’s platform and resource planning, delivery of the development slate, technical project management, maintenance and operations.
Geogy comes to Sprooki with 16+ years experience at managing enterprise-level platforms, tools and applications in development management roles with companies such as OCBC, Sybase and Quark. His main expertise focuses on end-to-end enterprise mobility strategy, planning and implementation and spans software development, end-to-end solutions architecture, mobile architecture & development (iOS/Android/HTML5), technical and project management across both internal and vendor/outsourced teams.
Mark has 23 years of Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Account Management background in retail technologies covering e-commerce, mobility, ERP, POS and Supply Chain.
Mark has regional exposure covers cross-cultural market consisting of MNCs and SMBs across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, China and the USA.
His depth of professional exposure includes pioneering an e-commerce platform in collaboration with the Singapore government agencies in the early 2000s to implement a groundbreaking Omni-channel platform for the Retail and F&B industry, such as SME2100, Kafe2100 and TyreRim21.
In addition, Mark has more than 8 years of business consulting experience with blue-chip companies in driving product & services sales and marketing through effective implementation of strategic business plan and sales & marketing plan.
Mark’s passion is grounded on helping brick and mortar malls and retailers to leapfrog their growth in footfall and sales revenue through the effective use of Internet and mobility technologies to gain definitive competitive advantage.
Gordon Nugent has over seventeen years’ experience in sales, retail management, logistics is currently Consumer Omnichannel Lead for HP throughout Asia Pacific and Japan. Prior to HP, Gordon held positions like Head of Online for Harvey Norman, a two-time winner of the Online Retail Industry “Best Multi-channel Retailer” Award.
Before setting up the Harvey Norman eCommerce team, Gordon had over 10 years in retail including managing and owning several Harvey Norman retail franchises and previously held the role of General Manager Retail at Ingram Micro, Australia’s largest IT distribution company.
Gordon has also held many advisory board positions for iMedia, PESA and Shippit. Gordon is a frequent speaker at digital marketing and eCommerce events, is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and is listed in Inside Retail’s Top 50 people in eCommerce 2015.
Reuben Ravago is a digital innovator and technologist with over 15 years experience in the retail and internet technology industry. Having held the position of Chief Information Office at SSI Group, Inc., a publicly listed multi-brand specialty retailer in the Philippines, Reuben pioneered the digital media office and initiated the SSI Group’s transformation to an omni-channel retailer for over 100 of the world’s leading international brands within the group such as Marks and Spencer, Gap, Payless ShoeSource and Family Mart.
Prior to SSI Group, Reuben held senior management and technology roles within Rustan Commercial Corporation, OLM Technologies, Inc. and the Managing Director and IT Director of K2 Interactive, Inc.
Reuben graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and took up Masteral Studies in Electrical Engineering with majors in Computer Architecture and Network Communications.
Penny has over 30 years’ experience in retail in senior management roles both in Australia and overseas and served on a number of public, private and advisory boards. She is currently Chairman of Port Waratah Coal Services Ltd, a non-executive director of Caltex Australia Limited, CSR Limited and a member of the UTS Business School’s Advisory Board.
Prior to her Board roles, Penny was director of group retail services with Woolworths, Australia’s largest grocery retailer responsible for leading the logistics, information technology and online retailing divisions as well as customer engagement teams. She has previously served in senior executive and general management roles at Myer in Australia and Asda Stores U.K. (a division of Walmart).
Penny holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Australia National University and an MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney, which awarded Penny the Zonta Prize for most outstanding female MBA in 1999.
Aliza Knox has gained strong recognition for her leadership, innovation and financial services, having received three innovation awards at Google and being named the AWA Singapore International Business Woman of the Year in 2015.
A senior executive at Twitter (APAC and Latin America), Aliza currently sits on the Boards of ASX listed Scentre Group, SGX listed SingPost and ETR listed Gfk and is an advisor to the ANZ Bank Board Technology Committee.
A strong advocate for gender diversity and supporting women in the workplace, Aliza leads APAC SWAT (Super Women at Twitter), having previously led Women@Google and is a member of WomenCorporateDirectors. She has previously served on two key committees for the Singapore government focused on the future of education and the future of work and is a frequent panelist including for the Australian Institute of Company Directors where she is valued for her view of the inclusion of women on Boards.
Howard Leibman has 20 years of corporate development, strategic advisory and general management experience spanning investment banking, corporate finance and technology.
Since 2010, he has focussed exclusively on startups, serving as investor, adviser or board director working with some of Australia’s most exciting technology startups and businesses including Siteminder, Oneflare, Deputy, Booodl, Beat the Q, Rezdy, Shippit, ConTgo and others. Howard previously served for five years as head of corporate development for NASDAQ-listed HeartWare International and as the Managing Director of listed Australian technology company, Aeris Technologies. He began his career as an engineer with General Electric Corporation before joining Emerging Growth Capital, advising mid-market technology companies on corporate and capital markets transactions.
Howard is a partner and member of the investment committee of the Microequities Venture Capital Fund, a $25 million fund investing in early stage technology companies.
